Abstract
This project paper attempts to identify the factors that influenced employee’s knowledge towards benefits provided by SOCSO Kota Bharu, Kelantan. The Social Security Organization (SOCSO) exists to administer the social security schemes which is part of Employee’s Security Act 1969. This organization also exists in order to take care of employee’s welfare on behalf of employers. Based on data given by SOCSO Kota Bharu, Kelantan, for certain benefits there were an increasing numbers of employees who got benefits from SOCSO. So, that situation has made the researcher get an idea to study about factors that influence the knowledge of employees towards the benefits given by SOCSO. The researcher has came out with three variables which are awareness programs (seminar), employer’s role and SOCSO’s role while the dependent variables were the employees knowledge towards benefits provided by SOCSO Kota Bharu, Kelantan. In addition, researcher has distributed questionnaires to 80 respondents in Kota Bharu area in order to know which factors that influence the most. From the finding analysis, it can be conclude that there were two significance factors that contribute to employee’s knowledge about the benefits provided. The factors were employer’s role and SOCSO’s role. Both of this factors influence the employee’s knowledge towards the benefits provided by SOCSO Kota Bharu, Kelantan. To sum up, SOCSO’s role give more impact on employee’s knowledge because there were numerous benefits that been provided by them. It is SOCSO’s responsibility in order to support government endeavour to create a caring society. SOCSO’s should give more attention in order to make employees well known about each benefit provided and which that suitable for them.
