Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the relationship between proactive personality, transformational leadership and growth mindset on work engagement in Melaka Historic City Council (MBMB). There are three hypothesis were developed to identify whether there is relationship between proactive personality, transformational leadership and growth mindset toward work engagement. Respondents are selected from 19 departments in the Melaka Historic City Council (MBMB). The data was conducted by distributing the 269 questionnaires to the employees. Descriptive, correlation and regression analysis was used to analyze data. The results from the Pearson Correlation Analysis showed that two among three independent variables have correlated with work engagement. There is a moderate and positive association between proactive personality and transformational leadership to the work engagement. Lastly, there is a less if any correlation and positive association between growth mindset and work engagement. Furthermore, based on R², it can be seen that the proactive personality, transformational leadership and growth mindset have 40.6% influences on the dependent variable. Meanwhile, the other 59.4% may be influenced by other factors.
