Abstract
Side table is one of a furniture that will be put in the living room beside with the sofas or at the corner of the room. Usually, this side table will come with a simple design and will be match with the theme of the living room whether it is modern style, Nordic style and others. In this study, a side table is designed by using oriented strand board (OSB) as material for the side table to make the side table affordable but at the same time keep the aesthetic value of wood. A survey by using google form is conducted to evaluate the customer satisfaction towards the characteristic of this product based on the knowledge, material, design and satisfaction. It involved 108 respondents that is from different demographic factors which is gender, age and profession. Oriented Strand Board Side Table design process started with collection of information until virtual drawing of the product. These projects were used SketchUp software to make the virtual drawing and in addition, cardboard, wood veneer, adhesive and acrylic paint were used in the mock-up development. From the results of survey, it shows that the Oriented Strand Board Side Table has been accepted positively by most of the respondents in every category. It can be concluded that the Oriented Strand Board Side Table has potential to be commercialized in the market due to the uniqueness and aesthetic value of the design.
