Abstract

Job performance meaning is outcome of a person in performing job or task. Performance is an important criterion for organizational outcomes and success. This study aims to investigate the factors that influencing task performance among employees in Majlis Bandaraya Melaka Bersejarah (MBMB). Task performance is a dimension that describes obligatory behaviors that can contribute to organization effectiveness. Two factors have been taken as independent variables to be investigated which is training methodology and work environment. Objective of this study is to determine relationship between training & development and work environment towards employees’ task performance in Majlis Bandaraya Melaka Bersejarah (MBMB). A convenience sampling technique was used to select a sample of 210 from a population of 400 employees and the response rate only 57.14%. Questionnaire was used to collect primary data. Data analysis was carried out using quantitative technique with the aid of statistical Package Social Science (SPSS) version 20. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using Descriptive Analysis, Pearson Correlation Coefficient and Regression Analysis. As a result, training & development and work environment has a positive and significant relationship towards employees’ task performance in Majlis Bandaraya Melaka Bersejarah (MBMB).
