Abstract

The purpose of this study is to deepen understanding the employees' knowledge and concept of recycling regarding waste management practices at the workplace. Apart from that, to identify level of knowledge on recycling and 3R Concept among employees and to identify whether there is any difference in the level of knowledge on recycling and 3R Concept between male and female employees. As a result, it will help to determine the company to enhance their office environmental so that they can take environmental responsibilities seriously at the work place. The private sector that will benefit from this study is Amanah Saham Pahang Berhad (ASPA). There were 7 parts in the questionnaire. Part 1 (Demographic), Part 2 (Waste Management at Amanah Saham Pahang Berhad), Part 3 (Issues at Amanah Saham Pahang Berhad), Part 4 ( Knowledge Recycling and 3R Concept), Part 5, (Reason to Recycle), Part 6 (Reason Not to Recycle) and lastly Part 7 (What Motivates You to Recycle). The data was collected by distributing questionnaire to 40 employees then the questionnaire were analyzed by using Statistical Package in the Social Science Software (SPSS) Version 20. As a result from the survey, majority of the employees generate papers in their daily work life. Most of them get information of recycling through posters. There were issues at ASPA such as there were no recycle bins provided. It can be concluded that, majority of the employees believed that recycling is important and helps the natural resources conservation but they did not take environmental responsibilities seriously as the company also did not take initiative to applied recycling programs at the work. In order to enhance the office environmental, the company should encourage the workers to apply 3R Concept, organize recycling programs that will benefit them as well as company. Most important, the company should provide recycle bins and facilities that will make easier to the workers to practice recycle as it is also can attract them to practice in their daily work. For the future researcher, they should focus both private and government sector to see the differences of data between them. Moreover, they should increase the sample or respondent of data.
