Abstract
Online scams is a crime that is no stranger to Malaysia. Many Malaysians have fallen victim to online scams. This matter is becoming more serious among Malaysians because statistics from the reports received show that cases involving online scams are increasing every year and the estimated amount of losses received also involves large amounts reaching hundreds of thousands of ringgit. Is this due to the lack of awareness among the community in Malaysia on online scams? Therefore, this study was made to find out the answer to this problem. The main objective of this study is to examine the understanding of the residents of Kg, Bukit Kapar, Selangor on the concept of online scams, also to identify the awareness of residents of Kg, Bukit Kapar, Selangor on the online scams and also to identify what action they will take if they become one of the victims. Questionnaires were distributed to the sample group through Google Forms. It has been found that residents in Kg Bukit Kapar, Selangor are aware of online scams.
