Abstract
The Fiqh Muasarah Production and Trade Guidelines is a document issued by the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) to assist in the production and trade of halal products. This document contains practical guidelines for the food industry on the preparation and handling of halal food (including nutrient enhancers). It aims to establish the basic regulations for food products or food businesses in Malaysia. 1bis document also includes guidelines on the production and trade of halal products, including the production of halal products, verification of halal products, handling of halal products, and advertising of halal products.
The question of halal and haram products is an important question for Muslims to pay attention to. From an Islamic point of view, the use of a product should be based on the concept of halal and good. Islam has put clear guidelines and rules on this matter which are explained in the Quran and Sunnah. This means that the issue of haram halal is closely related to the question of the faith of Muslims. However, lately there have been many doubts among Muslim consumers about the halal status of the products. In other words, Muslim consumers are increasingly exposed to various products that are suspected of being mixed with elements that are haram on the Islamic side. The Muslim community in the country is also surprised by the issue of the use of fake halal logos in food, health and food sales in restaurants so that it can doubt consumers. This should not be taken lightly or trivially. Therefore, these guidelines are provided to interpret and explain, to the processors and the public, whether Muslim or nonMuslim, aspects of Halal and Haram (Not Allowed) as prescribed in Islamic law. It covers food, drinks, goods, slaughter and equipment used by Muslims.
