Status of Malaysian particleboard industry / Siti Sulyana Sulaiman

This study is all about the status of Malaysian Particleboard Industry. The introduction of this study consist of Malaysian wood based industry, general description of Malaysian particleboard, history and development of Malaysian particleboard industry, number of particleboard factory in Malaysia, the impact of Particleboard industry on timber resources and environment. Chapter two consists of general manufacturing process of particleboard in every stages and type of raw material used in the particleboard manufacturing process. Chapter three consists of particleboard properties and their uses. Some of the particleboard properties highlighted are strength properties, durability, stability and thermal and sound insulation properties, while some of the uses are as industrial application, kitchen cabinet, shelving and so on. In the next chapter, the analysis of Malaysian particleboard status has been done especially the export status of the Malaysian particleboard and their major destinations. The last chapter is the conclusion of the Malaysian particleboard industry. Generally, the Malaysian particleboard industry has up and down. However, the Malaysian particleboard industry has developed starting from year 2002 and show the great development in year 2005.
