Abstract

Joining woods is an important part in furniture manufacturing industry. Joining has 3 basic operations. These are fitting, gluing and fastening. Many factors that we must see before selecting the right joint. Firstly the strength of the joint, secondly appearance of the joint and lastly the construction. Wood joint have many type for example butt joint, dowel joint, miter joint, rabbet joint and so many other types of joint. This library research showed to us about the joints which are commonly used in furniture production. This library research also described the advantages and disadvantages of each type of joints.
