Abstract

Wood is one of the important things in the human life. It is important to develop the world economy, to be as the raw material for almost everything in the wood and as the food sources for animal and human being. Although wood is the renewable resources, but we must wait for a long time to get the benefit of the wood. The deterioration of timber by wood deterioration agents can make the wood become the useless material. One of the wood deterioration agents is termite and the most destructive termites are subterranean termites. Although damage of the termite attack is not serious as those causes by fungi, it also can cause a big problem to the wood base product. Nevertheless, termite is important for forest ecosystem because termites are involved in nutrient cycling.
