Abstract

The process of finishing is the last of a sequence of manufacturing actions, neither more nor less important that all the previous. The application of
finishes is it protect the surface and also to enhance the esthetic qualities of timbers. Finishing also helps to enhance the attractiveness of the surface texture, dimensional stability and durability. In this research was carried out the suitability of plywood and Medium Density Board (MDF) is the best in finishing quality. From this study, MDF show a good resistance to cold check test and cross cut test but less for household (liquid, solvent and chemical) test. Plywood is not good for all testing.
