Industrial training report: Jabatan Pengairan dan Saliran Negeri Terengganu / Nabilah Huwaina Rusli

This report is based on my 24-week internship journey starting from 3 September 2023 until 8 February 2024 at Jabatan Pengairan dan Saliran Negeri Terengganu. The objective of this report is to measure the student understanding of their industry and summary of their journey during the internship. I have been assigned to the Admin and Finance Department under the supervision of Puan Zainun bin Hamzah, the chief clerk. It was a very memorable experience that I got when doing my internship at JPS Terengganu because get experience for myself to be well prepared to enter a real-life working environment. On the first day, I felt very nervous and afraid to do an internship in this company because I am an introverted person so I am afraid that there will be no one who wants to be friends with me. I also thought that they were afraid to give me work since I am just a student who want to learn new things. Unfortunately, my expectations were wrong because they very warmly welcomed my comings and treated me very well until today. I felt that my colleagues are like my mother when in the office since all the employees are in their late 30s. Furthermore, they always teach and invite me to learn a new thing and never complain if I ask them any questions. In JPS, I learned many new things, especially about the government system. Since I have a plan to become a government servant, it was a good start for me to know the system used by the government and the procedure. From this, I think doing an internship is a very important subject in the education journey that should be continued because the student can feel what the real working environment situation looks like. I also improved my communication skillsand it was a great opportunity can deal with all the employees and clients. During this internship, I become a brave person and more confident in communicating with people. In this report, I have included the internship company’s profile, my profile, and my duties as an internship student and there is a section for SWOT Analysis, SWOT Matrix, and PESTLE. All the analysis is based on my opinion and observation that I can see during my internship journey in this company. Furthermore, there are also recommendations that this company can take for improvement in the future that I observe from the SWOT Matrix analysis.
