Abstract
"Japanese Moku-Zogan Technique Application to Malaysian Furniture Design" intricately weaves Japanese woodworking, specifically Moku-Zogan, with traditional Malaysian furniture, emphasizing cultural exchange through Wau Bulan and Sakura motifs. Rigorous research aims to craft culturally significant furniture, symbolizing shared values between Malaysia and Japan. The intentional fusion of Sakura and Wau Bulan patterns not only celebrates cultural harmony but also harbors entrepreneurial potential. The resulting pieces, embodying a cross-cultural aesthetic, offer commercial appeal in the global design market. This initiative serves as a dynamic platform for promoting cultural exchange, celebrating craftsmanship, and unlocking entrepreneurial opportunities in furniture design. Beyond artistic aspirations, the project positions itself at the intersection of cultural enrichment and commercial viability. The envisioned outcome is a captivating furniture collection that encapsulates the beauty and cultural richness of both Malaysia and Japan. The intentional convergence of diverse cultural elements exemplifies the transformative power inherent in cross-cultural design, offering a unique and globally resonant narrative within the field of furniture craftsmanship. Through its entrepreneurial lens, this project aspires to contribute to the global conversation on sustainable and culturally enriched design practices, fostering a lasting impact in the world of furniture craftsmanship and cross-cultural appreciation.
