Ayiune Dewi

This artwork is inspired by the Dewi Sri motives, which is an iconic figure from Indonesian mythology associated with agriculture, fertility, and abundance. The sculpture pays homage to Dewi Sri by capturing her timeless beauty and symbolic significance in a three-dimensional form. It incorporates elements from the Dewi Sri motives into mortise arrangements, including motifs of rice stalks, flowers, fertility symbols, and ‘Mega Mendung’ motifs. The artist meticulously crafted the sculpture to reflect Indonesia’s cultural heritage and mythological narratives. The artist’s choice of materials and techniques is crucial in conveying the desired aesthetic and symbolic meaning. This artwork the artist used a waste box with specific Indonesian labels and colors, arranged in dominos, and glued in the mortise to create the sculpture.
