Hibiscus: round lounge chair / Siti Nur Alya Hafizah Shamsudin

The world has a wide variety of nature and fauna. Half of the flora can be used as inspiration or used as a symbol of a country. In addition, decorative inspiration or so as a design is not possible for us. Making something or taking it as inspiration to create a work is common for an artist. This inspires can make art unique, creative, and much more. Only a handful of artists work using flora and they create more inspiration about fauna as their work. Examples of works that they have used as works are butterfly-inspired chairs, shark-inspired tables and many more, to inspire flora, that is, flowers are rarely used as inspiration to make a model. Even so, being inspired by flora and fauna is a common thing for people who are artistic to make a work that is creative and unique when the public looks at it. Works like this are exhibited in museums and some people use these words to be placed in the house as interior decoration. The purpose of this study is to design a chair for the selected flower to make inspired by flora. The flora that chooses this flower which is hibiscus. Based on the study made, the flower selected is the hibiscus concept. Several special characteristics can be found in this inspiration. Hibiscus is a flower that is used as a symbol in Malaysia, apart from that hibiscus is also used as a traditional medicine in the Malay community. Rarely do artful people use hibiscus to make a model. Abroad, there are those who look like flowers that are used to create inspiration as models. Each artist will incorporate the concepts and elements present in the flowers to look like a different model to each another model. In addition, the type of chair chosen for this design is a lounge chair. It's because the design chair is unique and suitable to place in a relaxing space to use.
