Abstract

Sate is one of the most popular dishes in Malaysia. Sate is usually made from chicken or beef meat. The meat is marinated for few hours and they are cooked by grilling, usually at the location where they are sold. The scope of the project is to conceptualize a new way of grilling sate that will be more convenient to use, easy to clean and can be domesticated. In carrying out the project, a survey was performed on the present means of cooking sate. Then new ideas were generated during the conceptual stage. Finally, after some discussion with the advisor and an experienced sate seller, a design was selected. As time was limited only the grill part/component of the complete sate cooker was manufactured. It is hope that the gas stove and the housing grill be constructed by the next batch of students. In subsequent pages, descriptions of the present means of cooking, the new ideas that were muted, and finally the final design that was selected are presented.
