Abstract
The Rural Transformation Project is one of the largest projects that has been implemented by the Government which include the Construction Industry. Besides than giving the good facilities, Rural Transformation Project also give an opportunity to the contractor to improve their performances. However certain of the contractors’ performance has not reach the clients expectation in delivering their duties. Therefore, this dissertation entitled “Contractor’s Performance in Sarawak Rural Transformation Project (RTP)” aims to study is to study the contractor performance in Sarawak Rural Transformation Project (RTP). The specific objectives of this study are to assess clients’ perception of contractors’ performance in Sarawak Rural Transformation Project, to investigate the impact of Sarawak Rural Transformation Project on contractors’ performance and to determine the factors influencing the contractor’s performance in Rural Transformation Project. The research methodology that applied in the study was the method of quantitative data. This quantitative research method was focused on the contractor form varies classes and clients that involve in RTP at Betong, Sarawak. Findings show that RTP give the job opportunities to the contractor and able to improve the contractor’s performance is the most agreeable perceptions by the parties that involve in Betong RTP. Meanwhile the most popular choices by the respondents on the factors that affect the contractor’s performance was the management of the 3 element which is time, cost and quality. As conclusion, it was very important to be aware of the contractor’s performance in Sarawak RTP.
