Defect repairing work on building during Defects Liability Period (DLP) (Rural Health Clinics KD2G types 1 and 2 for Ministry of Health Malaysia): FN Communication Sdn. Bhd./ Mior Ahmad Ridzuan Mior Alhadi

Construction industry is one of the main industries in this country. The industry helps to generate the nation’s economy as well as proving benefits to construction companies. But some of these firm acted unprofessionally by involving in project that do not meet the standart especially in housing development. There are a lot of defect to the houses purchase by house buyers especially in term of material and workmanship. This study has been conducted in the aim of identifying factors affecting quality of construction and type of defects. The methodology adopted was through literature review and interview the developer and the contractor. The result can show that poor workmanship is the major contributor to poor quality of construction. In order to minimize the problem, the contractor has to provide workers with necessary experience and skills. Generally, this practical training report clarifies the information about all of the repairing works, processes and methods during the building defect liability period (DLP).This practical training report is prepared based on day to day and comprehensive program of repair, renewed maintenance gained throughout about 4 months of practical training on a construction site of a FN Communication Sdn Bhd. This practical training report is started with explanation and clarification of company background and background of project. Also, in this practical training report, the method statement or the work instruction of the repairing work of the building during DLP will be explained thoroughly. Next, this report also explained about the problem caused by the materials used for the construction and the equipment used by the general workers. Moreover, the common problems and defects faced involving during DLP is also explained in this report along with its suitable steps of solutions. As the conclusion, this practical training report can explain in details about the repairing process during DLP in practically to all of the readers.
