Abstract
Nowadays, many new technologies had been established around the world and this has allowed it easier for people to communicate each other. Apart from this, technologies also allowed people to shop online. Therefore, this study was carried out to determine the relationship between personality traits based on the Big Five Personality Traits and preference to shop online among the administrative support staff at UNIMAS. This study was a correlational research and data was collected using questionnaire method. Data was analysed using SPSS 20.0 version. A total of population was 180 staff. Administrative support staff at Department of Asset in UNIMAS was selected by using a purposive sampling technique. Based on the results, R value for the Agreeableness (r=.062,p=.497), Conscientiousness (r=.201*,p=.026), Extraversion (r=.240**,p=.007), Neurocitism (r=.109,p=.230), Openness to Experience (r=.365**,p=000). The relationship between Openness to experience and preference to shop online is moderate positive relationship. Agreeableness and neuroticism has a no relationship with preference to shop online. Conscientiousness and Extraversion have a weak positive relationship with preference to shop online. In conclusion, more studies need to be conducted for other organizations or other universities so that the researcher is can gain more findings on relationship between personality traits and online shopping.
