Abstract

Wood wastes are unused materials that have not been go further processing in industry including packaging, furniture, wood composite and handicraft industry. Souvenir is a thing that is kept as a memory and commonly used by tourists because of traveling. Material from metal, glass, plastic and textile are currently used in our industry. Therefore, this study is conducted to overcome the wood waste management problems by produced three different souvenir products. It can help reduce wood wastes in industry and also protect our environment especially the sustainable natural resources. Materials from plywood, off-cuts, pallets and solid wood were used as main materials. About 100 questionnaires were distributed to respondents from UiTM Pahang, Wood and Lifestyle Fair exhibition at PWTC and other public places. Result had shown that all of wood wastes were utilized in souvenirs making and the most desired souvenir is Product C (Branch Wall Mirror) by respondents. There is no significant difference on the rating of souvenir products. Therefore, all the products are suitable as a souvenir item.
