Types of waterproofing system / Syahida Jamil

The practical training report in which the student has to submit is an important requirement and pre-requisite for the award of the Diploma in Building Surveying. The submission of the practical report is in the sixth semester of Diploma in Building Surveying programme. Student has to conduct an investigation and prepare a report in various fields relating to the construction industry based on their experience during the practical period. Based on my case study, this report contains information on types of waterproofing system. On chapter one, this report explains in detail on the company that I joined in order to complete the requirement of subject BSR 360. The chapter give information including the company background, the organization chart and the scope of work, the location plan of the company and the list of projects that the company has completed and ongoing. For chapter two, the content more focusing on literature review. The method to obtain the information are interviewing, site visiting and research on books. This chapter is based on facts that been acquired regarding the types of waterproofing and the method statement. In chapter three, it contains information on the case study. As for this report, the case study involved is at Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah, Mukim Batu Buruk, Daerah Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu Darul Iman, and Nautica Condominium Management Corporation, Sunway South Quay, Bandar Sunway, Subang Jaya, Selangor Darul Ehsan. The chapter explain on types of waterproofing that been conducted at the site which is Bituminous Protective Coating at Terengganu and High-Pressure PU Grouting Injection System at Selangor. This chapter also explain on the method of statement that been used at the sites.
Chapter 4 explain on problems that happen during implementation of project and the recommendation for solution of the problems. Chapter 5 is the overall conclusion of this report.
