Abstract
The purpose of this study is to identify the perception towards constraints on participation as volunteer in sports event. This study will used quantitative method which had 4 dimension; intrapersonal, interpersonal, structural and cultural constraints where involving 312 respondents from SUKIPT 2018 volunteers at National University of Malaysia (UKM) had been choosen as respondents for this study. SPSS version 23 was used to analyze the result of this study. The result showed the main constraints on participation as volunteer was structural factor (M = 3.53, SD = 0.58). There is no significant difference of constraints on participation as volunteer between gender where constraints for male showed (M = 3.24, SD= 0.51) and female (M = 3.26, SD = 0.56) with p-value is above than 0.05 (p > 0.05). There is a significant difference of constraints on participation as volunteer in term of experience where intrapersonal and structural constraints were (p < 0.05). The findings of the study was provided the more understanding towards volunteerism. Lastly, this finding was contributed to the event organizer to determine the problem and overcome it.
