A study on the implementation of in-house authority / Hasbullah Mohamed @ Ibrahim

Starting from September 2004 till now and ages before, the problem of delaying of the process of building Plan Approval and Approval of Certificate of Fitness for new construction are always appear in our local news paper and become quite a major problems that ever happen in our construction industry. Are the Local Authorities officers done their work following the right schedule and a right way to approve it, without money under table (corruption) in order to get instant approval? Too many birocracy in a Local Authority procedure also one of the problems why the approval late to be approved. In this dissertation, will study on Building Control and the implementation of the In-House Authority concept in the development projects. It will consist of the case study chosen which is applying the concept of In-House Authority in their management. Sierramas Homeowners Bhd or the management team are responsible in Building Control for any newly construction project or renovation, alteration, or any extension to house and ensure that all work was safe environment, clean and follow the rules of Sierramas and Building By law. This study will also find out whether the concept they being practice helps the Local Authority in their task on Building Plan Approval and Application for Certificate of Fitness.
