Abstract
The purpose of the study was to examine the usage of YouTube video clips in English Language lesson of Lower Six students of SMK Simunjan No.1. Descriptive statistics was used to collect the intended data. 32 Lower Six students were selected to be part of this study. Pre-test was done before integrating YouTube video clips in the English Language lesson. After the pre-test, treatment was given to the respondents for four weeks. Then, post-test was done to obtain the end results. After the speaking test, respondents were given a questionnaire which consisted of 45 items to identifY factors that motivate them in using YouTube video clips, to investigate their general attitude and to identify the benefits of using YouTube video clips in the English Language lesson. The data was then analyzed
using Pair Sample T-test and frequency. The findings showed that the respondents scored better after using YouTube video clips during lesson. The intrinsic motivation among the respondents was derived from the way the native speakers speak. Meanwhile, extrinsic motivation was obtained from the availability of YouTube video clips when the respondents were having their leisure time. The general attitudes of the respondents showed that they appreciated the use of YouTube video clips in learning the English Language. The finding in this study is significant as it showed that authentic materials from YouTube video clips can make the learning of English Language more enjoyable and meaningful. In addition, students will be able to use a wide range of vocabulary and will be more confident to speak English Language.
