Abstract
Arabic Language has an exceptional position in Islam. It is the language of Quran, thus the need to learn and understand Arabic among Muslims is of paramount importance. Therefore, in Malaysia the Arabic language are promoted at the primary and secondary school. With the advent of c-0mputer technology, various kind of multimedia tools have been developed for the purpose of language learning. Since students are attracted to computer applications especially those that involve multimedia, there is a need to develop Arabic language learning application for them. Recent advances in software autho1ing packages have made the production of CDROMs an efficient and effective educational strategy. 'The prime objective of this research was to develop the Interactive Arabic Language Courseware (lALC) for form one students of Sekolah Menengah Rendah Agama Johol that enable them to learn the language. IALC was developed based on the ADDIE instructional design model. Based on the evaluation results it was shown that the courseware more effectively than traditional learning tools such as book through the learning assessment. For future enhancement, it is recommended that the Interactive Arabic language courseware will be integrated into web-based platform so it can be accessed easily anywhere.
