Abstract

It is known that food delivery riders, as a profession, face many challenges, including long working hours, exposure to traffic and inclement weather, lack of job security, low pay, and lack of benefits. They may also be at increased risk of accidents while riding their vehicles. The study's objective is to assess the food delivery riders' knowledge, attitudes, and practice regarding traffic rules and regulations in Puncak Alam. This study was conducted among the food delivery riders in Puncak Alam. The questionnaire was distributed to the food delivery riders in Puncak Alam. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 28, Chi-square. This study found that 30 % of the respondents have experienced a crash in the past 12 months, and the other 70 % has not have experienced a crash in the past 12 months. For the knowledge score, this study found that two people have inadequate knowledge and the other 18 have adequate knowledge. From the attitudes score, nine food delivery riders have a negative attitude towards delivery riders, and the other 11 have a positive attitude. Also, for the practices score, the other 18 people have a good practice, but two have poor practice. For the statistical analysis, this study found a strong positive association between inadequate knowledge and poor practices with the age of food delivery riders. Statistical analysis also showed a significant association between food delivery riders who own their vehicles and attitudes. This study concludes that attitude is a significant problem for food delivery riders. This study found a strong significant association between inadequate knowledge, poor practices, and the age of food delivery riders. Thus, this study can give the authority perspective on what can be made to reduce the accident caused by food delivery riders.
