Industrial training report: Zero Mass Water Holdings Malaysia Sdn Bhd

Embarking on my 6-month industrial training at Zero Mass Water Holdings Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., now known as SOURCE Global, was a transformative and enlightening experience. During my internship, I had the privilege of working in a dynamic finance team consisting of 13 members, including two interns. Under the guidance of the understanding and supportive Finance Director, Mrs. Jess Chan, and the collaborative efforts of my teammates, I learned essential finance skills. The most rewarding aspect was being offered a permanent position post-internship, a testament to the invaluable experience and support I received.
Zero Mass Water Holdings Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is a pioneer in sustainable water production, utilizing innovative SOURCE Hydro Panel technology to convert solar energy and air moisture into clean drinking water. Despite its groundbreaking advancements, the company faces financial and operational challenges. The profitability issues are evident from negative Return on Assets (ROA) and Return on Equity (ROE) in recent years. To enhance financial health, strategic cost management and the exploration of new revenue streams are essential. Liquidity management has also been fluctuating, necessitating better cash flow practices and inventory management. The company’s rising debt ratio underscores the need for equity financing and stakeholder communication to reduce financial risks. Diversifying the supply chain and establishing production facilities closer to key markets can mitigate operational risks and ensure timely delivery. By addressing these areas, Zero Mass Water can achieve sustainable growth and reinforce its leadership in global water sustainability.
