Industrial training report: Tunas Sejati Corporation Sdn Bhd

The document is an Industrial Training Report prepared by me, Nuraini Shafiqah Binti Izhar, a student of the Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons.) Finance, Faculty of Business and Management, UiTM Arau, Perlis. This report is the documentation of my internship undertaken at Tunas Sejati Corporation Sdn. Bhd. in shipping, logistics and stevedoring with an agreement to start from March 1, 2024, to August 9, 2024, rendering the company’s service for six months or 24 weeks. Tunas Sejati Corporation Sdn. Bhd. is a prominent logistic company which has its operation terminals at Penang Port, Johor Port, Tanjung Langsat Port, Tanjung Bruas Melaka Port, Teluk Ewa-Langkawi Port, involving in stevedoring services, shipping agency, ship chartering, and manpower supply.
The knowledge gained from the internship was centered on the shipping, logistics, and stevedoring industries and the practical user experience of the TBS Automation System, which is an accounting software, as well as the build-up of soft skills. This paper discusses on the company’s strengths of having strategic operational locations and its long-standing expertise in the industry, the weaknesses are notably having high operational costs and being economic dependent, potential and threats involve utilizing intermodal transportation services and working with more reputable clients and services tax changes as well as changes in geopolitical tension respectively. Lastly, the recommendation section provides guidance to Tunas Sejati regarding the areas that need enhancement for improving operational effectiveness, strategies for exploiting opportunities, and threats that must be avoided at all costs. It underlines that the decision-making process must be based on strategic management concepts and that organizations must change their plans according to the constantly evolving business environment.

Altogether, this Industrial Training Report is a summary of the whole training period in Tunas Sejati Corporation Sdn. Bhd. Here, one can note that the paper is dedicated to the significance of the strategic management and adaptation of future logistics in the industry, which can be considered useful for practical utilization and approved suggestions for the future.
