Industrial training report: AMC Cincaria Sdn Bhd

My adventure to become a finance intern at AMC Cincaria Sdn Bhd in Bayan Lepas, Pulau Pinang, from 1 March 2024 to 9 August 2024 was a pleasant experience that greatly enhanced my industry knowledge and professional abilities during the period of my 24-week industrial training. This internship, part of the Industrial Training course (MGT666), was designed to provide me with practical skills for a dynamic finance career. This report includes a summary of AMC Cincaria Sdn Bhd, thoughts on the skills and knowledge acquired, and an entire description of my tasks and responsibilities. A SWOT analysis indicated that the company's strengths include persistent revenue growth and timely salary payments, while its weaknesses include the Abas software's restricted user capacity and a high turnover rate among local workers because of strict overtime regulations. Opportunities stated include a young team and plans to extend operations to Batu Kawan, Pulau Pinang, while threats include delayed the client invoice payments and data security difficulties caused by software constraints. Based on the SWOT analysis, I recommended several methods to improve AMC Cincaria Sdn Bhd's performance. These include improving cash flow management to minimize the impact of late invoice payments, investing in advanced data security measures to protect sensitive information, revising the overtime policy to reduce local worker resignations and increase employee satisfaction, along with expanding the Abas software system's user capacity. Furthermore, this study assesses the financial stability of AMC Cincaria Sdn Bhd's business operations and provides recommendations to improve management practices. The appendices section contains unclassified documentation of my tasks and experiences during my internship with AMC Cincaria Sdn Bhd.
