Industrial training report: Penang Development Corporation

This report offers a thorough summary of my internship experience at Penang Development Corporation, which is located at Bayan Lepas, Penang for 24 weeks from 1 March 2024 to 9 August 2024. The internship program was created to provide real-world experience and practical exposure in accounting to enhance the theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom. At PDC, I have been supervised by Puan Norhaslina Binti Abdul Rashid, an assistant manager in the Finance department. I gained a remarkable knowledge of accounting throughout my journey as an intern at PDC such as generating payments, compiling and filing payment vouchers, billing back invoices to the customers, updating the supporting schedule every month and many more. Furthermore, I got to experience working together as a team with skilled staffs and improving my communication skills.
I began this report by using my revised resume, which I used to apply for an internship at Penang Development Corporation, as the student's profile. This CV includes my educational history, professional experience, leadership background, academic accomplishments, and skills. Along with my industrial training, I have included the company's history, vision, mission, and objective, as well as the organizational structure and services offered by Penang Development Corporation. In addition, I performed the firm's SWOT analysis, which consists of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. There were two conclusions for each of the SWOT components. The internship at Penang Development Corporation was a worthwhile and rewarding opportunity that aided in the development of professional skills, industry insights, and practical abilities. The objectives of the internship were greatly fulfilled in part because of the well-organized program, encouraging mentoring, and variety of project options. Unquestionably, the skills and information acquired during this time will help me pursue a successful career in the industry.
