Abstract

Training programs are the process of transferring information and knowledge to employers and equipping employers to translate that information and knowledge into practice with a view to enhancing organization effectiveness and productivity, and the quality of the management of people. Training program usually closely associate with the performance of employees. So, this project paper had identified the association of training programs and the employees’ performance at lower level management. These lower levels of management are those who are work at production site or the operational site. This study had been carrying out at PETRONAS Refinery, Sg Udang, Melaka. The operators at PETRONAS mostly are known as technicians. The data and findings had been studied on 50 operators or technicians at PETRONAS. They had become the respondents for this study. So, the data collection had been identify that training programs implemented at PETRONAS Refinery, Sg Udang, Melaka are effective to reduce the rate of absenteeism, have an inverse relationship with the rate of accidents at the workplace, had motivated the employees to work hard to achieve productivity and had improve the level of skills and expertise among them. Therefore, this study had proved that training programs have close association with the job performance among the employees.
