Abstract
The internship was conducted over six months at TDM Berhad, a Government-Linked Company (GLC) with core businesses in plantation and healthcare, from March 1, 2024, to August 9, 2024. During this period, I was assigned to the Human Resource department under the supervision of En Mohd Helmi Marzuki, the HR Manager. Throughout the 24 weeks of my internship, I was responsible for managing various tasks focused on compensation and benefits. These responsibilities included handling death, medical, and travel claims. Additionally, I was involved in the selection and interview processes, gaining valuable experience in recruitment. My role also required close collaboration with team members, where I actively participated in organizing events and CSR programs as a committee member. Overall, my internship at TDM Berhad provided me with hands-on experience in human resource management, particularly in compensation and benefits. It also offered several intrinsic benefits. I enhanced my communication skills, learned how to create Pivot Charts to visually represent data and gain insights, and gained practical experience by working on real-world HR issues and tasks. This internship has been an invaluable opportunity for personal and professional growth, equipping me with practical skills and a deeper understanding of HR functions in a corporate setting.
