Industrial training report: Epic Og Sdn Bhd / Ummi Nur Zahirah Noramat

This report contains a 6 months internship experience at Epic OG sdn. bhd. from 3 March until 8 August 2024. Through the internship as a Manpower Coordinator Assistant in the Operations Department, I gained valuable insights to the oil and gas industry especially in the Offshore Crew management. Epic OG is a Bumiputera-owned company with more than 34 years experienced in oil and gas industry. Epic OG sdn. bhd listed as a members of Terengganu Incorporated (Terengganu Inc.) sdn. bhd which positions Epic OG as Government link company (GLC) under the states of Terengganu. The company offer a wide range of services of offshore and onshore work, including fabrication, maintenance, Hook-up and many more. Being one of the GLC company poses a significant advantage for this company in terms of government support. The internship involved various responsibilities, including managing crew onboard and crew change dashboards, document filing, contacting crew members, preparing contract of employment, and updating crew information in ExxonMobil systems. These tasks provided hands-on experience in data management, communication, and industry-specific processes. The internship experience revealed the importance of continuous learning, adaptability, and attention to detail in the oil and gas sector. The report includes a comprehensive SWOT analysis of EPIC OG, highlighting its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. A PESTEL analysis further explores the macro-environmental factors affecting EPIC OG, which are political, economic, social, technological, environmental, and legal perspective. This report also come out with strategic recommendations derived from the SWOT and PESTEL analysis, aimed at leveraging EPIC OG's strengths, addressing its weaknesses, capitalizing on opportunities, and mitigating threats. These strategies focus on enhancing service offerings, expanding operations, improving workforce development, and addressing regulatory and environmental challenges.
