Abstract

Wood is a renewable natural resource in our life and it is important for our economy and daily life. It can be used as fuel materials, construction materials, furniture and decoration. But wood can always be decay by agent that will make wood become useless and low quality. Beetles (Coleoptera) are organisms that cause decayed to wood. The beetles are the largest insect Order comprising of the known insects. There are four families of beetle which is Lyctidae, Anobiidae, Bostrychidae and Cerambycidae. Most of the infestation that is caused by beetle occurred while the beetle is still in the larval stage. Characteristics of the frass and the tunnels system vary between different wood boring beetle species.
