Abstract
Malaysia has a great potential in turning its abundant supply of oil palm into a furniture making. Lately, the sawn timber is shortened in Malaysia in furniture industry. Malaysia only provided rubber wood and acacia trees as a source of sawn timber furniture. Now other new alternative that being used is non wood resource such as palm oil that will replaced rubber wood and acacia trees as a new source of furniture making sawn timber. However, oil palm is still subject to studies to know the properties oil palm sawn timber either it can be as a raw material or not in furniture making.
