Abstract

Wood is one of the resources on the earth and it is important for the development of the world's economy nowadays. It is also very important in human life because it is the source of income for them. It is renewable resource and has a high value in the market. Wood functions as food for some animals and can give nutrient to the soil for its arable. The demolishment of wood by pests would eventually decrease the manufacture of wood and make it useless. One of them is termites that have been known all over the world. Even though the defect made by termites is not as worse as made by fungi, it also contributes some impact to the wood based economy. Thus, we have to approve that termites also play an important role in the forest ecosystem and nutrient circulation for land fertilization.
