Abstract

Log break down is the step how timber was produced from log. The first step of log recovery was cut the tree using the chainsaw. This called logging. After logging, the tree was cut to become a log. Transportation to the yard storage area from the receiving point and to the long-log deck may utilize railroad cranes, bridge cranes, self loading trucks, conveyors, front end haulers, back hoe or other transport that can uses. Then the log was cut using carriage band saw. Using carriage band saw is to avoid the non straight cutting for big timber. Using this method, it can reduce the waste after cutting and increase the high log volume. After that the log was cut using band saw or edge band saw to get a wood. Timber can be cut using quarter sawn and flat sawn method.
