Abstract
Writing in English Language learning is perceived as challenging and a difficult task for the students. They have grammatical problems, lack of vocabulary, limited proficiency in English, lack of practice and others. This study was carried with the aim of improving Form Five students’ skill in constructing better sentence structure. The students that involved in this study were 27 pupils (2023) from one class and 34 pupils of two classes (2024). SPREAD is a card game, designed to help them understand verbs, nouns, and simple, compound and complex sentences. Thus, helping the students have further understanding when writing sentences for their essay. The data collection methods used in this project were observation, feedback responses and document analysis. The result of this study showed that SPREAD has helped the pupils create better sentences and aided them in understanding the steps in writing a sentence. The findings indicated that SPREAD managed to stimulate self-confidence, expand knowledge and experience fun learning in English classes.
