The effects of leadership styles on job performance among lecturers in Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Arau, Perlis

This research was conducted to carry out a study entitled “The Effects of Leadership Styles among Lecturers in Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Arau, Perlis”. The purpose of this study is to investigate the key effects which lead to the job performance among lecturers. The three independent variables are transformational leadership, transactional leadership, and laissez faire leadership. The sample size used for this study was 186. Data was obtained by using convenience sampling. The study seeks to identify the level of job performance among lecturers in Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Arau, Perlis, to examine the relationship between independent variables (transformational leadership, transactional leadership, and laissez faire leadership), and dependent variable (job performance) and to identify the most significant predictor variables on job performance among lecturers in Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Arau, Perlis. Finding shows that, there is a job performance among lecturers in Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Arau, Perlis and all independent variables (transformational leadership, transactional leadership, and laissez faire leadership) show significant relationship with the dependent variable (job performance). The most significant predictor variable on job performance among lecturers in Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Arau, Perlis is transformational leadership at 0.357 (35.7%). Overall, researcher achieved to answer all objectives in the study.
