Abstract

This research was carried out to investigate the reading trends among pupils primary 4, 5 and 6 of Sekolah Kebangsaan Lunying, Simunjan. This study invesgates the students’ habit of reading. This study also identifies the types of materials that are read by the students. It also examines the factors that influence students’ reading habits. This study involves 22 students of Sekolah Kebangsaan Lunying, Simunjan. The results of the study showed a significant result among the pupils who choose to read Malay and English materials. The results show that the main reason why students to read is to get knowledge. Meanwhile, the main factor that cause students not to read is because they prefer to television. The final result are discussed in the last chapter of this research; Chapter Five.
