Abstract

According to the course outline, the Faculty of Business Administration at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Arau, Perlis has included the subject Industrial Training (MGT666) in its course outline, which will provide pre-professional work experience to all students enrolled in the subject and is the final course for the program Business Administration in Marketing. For six months, a student must complete an internship attachment or on-the-job training in areas linked to our academic degree. This internship course serves as a practical training ground for students to gain practical knowledge and workplace skills that provide work experience and responsibility in carrying out duties set by the company. It would improve the task's practical abilities, knowledge, and attitude. Therefore, I have completed this Industrial Training Report at the company that I have been working for, which is Bats Aviation Sdn Bhd, an airline based in Malaysia that specializes in flight school services. It is known for its expertise in training aspiring pilots and has a strong reputation in the aviation industry. On top of that, I have the opportunity to intern in three distinct departments: PR & Marketing, Training, and Student Affairs. I started to work at this company on 1 March and completed my industrial training on 15 August 2023. During my internship, I conducted a comprehensive SWOT analysis of Bats Aviation to assess its internal strengths and weaknesses, as well as external opportunities and threats. This analysis helped me gain a deeper understanding of the company's current position in the market and identify areas for improvement and potential growth. Other than that, I also utilized the PESTLE framework, which considers Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Legal, and Environmental factors that may impact a company's operation. From my observation through SWOT analysis and PESTLE, I was able to build coordination at the TOWS matrix by applying alternative strategies that can be implemented by coordinating the main external and internal factors. The findings of the TOWS matrix played a crucial role in shaping strategic decisions that contributed to the company's growth and success. By identifying internal strengths to leverage and weaknesses to address, as well as external opportunities to pursue and threats to mitigate, the TOWS matrix provided valuable insights for decision-making. In conclusion, my internship at Bats Aviation provided an excellent opportunity to kick start my career and apply the skills I acquired during my university studies.
