Abstract

The course is an intermediate level course designed for Industrial Design students that emphasis more on the comprehension of product feasibility. This course focuses on the product research process and applying the data given into the design and its functionality. The delivery of the subject is organised through case study and project exercises using reverse engineering approach. The proposed design project is based on the ergonomics, usability and practicality of proposed products. Students will find it easy to understand the background of each project before entrusting a proposed project as students can relate between form, function, components and technical basics. Students will become more innovative to develop user friendly product that is more challenging. Students are prepared for career readiness with employability skills that are often intergraded between academic and technical skill to build and maintain a successful in industry. Students can initiate their projects to be designed according to processes and required methods as learned through the semester.
