A study on factors that contribute stress at the workplace among lecturers in University Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Malacca City Campus

Academic staff or sometimes refer as lecturer or academician is an employee who work in university with multiple roles (being a teacher, clinician, researcher, student supervisor and even administrator). Due to the change in education system, the level of stress among academic staff and university management was high and keep on increasing worldwide. This report aims to investigate and identify the factors that can contribute stress among lecturers in University Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Malacca City Campus. This research will find whether factors such as workload, students’ behavior, relationship with co-workers and career development are contribute stress among lecturers. By using all items in questionnaire, the findings highlight four factors contribute to stress which workload, student behavior, relationship with co-worker, and career development. This study will be conducted within University Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Malacca City Campus and involve 92 lecturers in different faculties. Result of study showed that the most factor contribute stress among lecturer is relationship with co-worker.
