IDT263 : Professional design practice / Faculty of Art and Design

The Professional Design Practice course is designed to gives exposure to student on how they should present themselves in appropriate physical appearances and work documentation for professional career practice especially in industrial design field. The students will apply ethics learning in preparing for job application and professional career. The preparation includes certain aspect through self grooming standard, resume and portfolio preparation, practice on interview and then practice on conducting an event. The course will provide guidelines for the students on how to justify the suitable attire to ensure their readiness for multiple category of occasion.They will exposed to guidelines and tutorial in compiling proper work documentation processes with the help of necessary software. Students are able to produce their own designer's portfolio based on the guidelines taught by the course for lifelong learning. Importantly, this course also prepares the students with the skill in working as a team. Moreover, this course will train the students to organize their own event through teamwork and committee management skill. This course, will build student's confidence in develop self-image presentation, with knowledge of personal grooming, ethics, career readiness and working in a team or organization.
