FTP541 : Stage directing / Faculty of Film, Theatre and Animation

This course aims to strengthen the skills in directing. The course will introduce students to the approaches that can be applied in creating their working system. Director’s work involves mainly in the rehearsal space and students will be taught various methods of handling actors in the rehearsal. The course will also look more deeply into the need to analyze the script as it is a crucial process in directing. Students will be aggravated to argue on theatre performances. In order creating a young and talented directors, the course will emphasize on the important analyzing the text and bring out the essence of the text and create the mise-en-scene. Skills developed in the course would enable students to contribute in the development of the theatre scene in Malaysia.
