FND402 : Islamic calligraphy / College of Creative Arts

This course is a subject that will provide all the basic knowledge in basic Islamic Calligraphy (khat) from history, family of type, anatomy and the structure of each letter. This course will introduce the proper method and techniques of writing khat from the single hijaiyah letter to complete hijaiyah script. Development of writing skill will be presented in manually hand writing practice, writing khat script assignment and final artwork. Final artwork should be fully hand drawn (khat script). Students are expected to be well versed with their work and this should be reflected when they present in their degree assessment.
