Abstract
The youth who hold high education institution’s student is a valuable asset of the State because they will lead the country in future. However, the nature of leadership among the youth today is declining. Employers are now concerned about the nature of leadership which is one of the soft skills needed on the job. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to verify the existence of Lincoln’s leadership traits among the students, to determine the dominant traits of Lincoln’s leadership among the students and to evaluate the effectiveness of Lincoln’s leadership traits towards student performance. This research aims to study the Lincoln's leadership traits among the students in Kota Samarahan Higher Education Institutions and it is a cross-sectional correlation sample. The quality of education that students comprise about 200 students selected. This leadership study will help the students aware with their own weaknesses and strength as the leader and help the students to improve their leadership skills, helps our country to produce a credible leader who can lead the country in the future, give positively impact to an organization which the existence of great leader will not only increase productivity, but will also create a safe working environment. Leadership study also can be a contribution to knowledge in which there will be a new knowledge of leadership in acquisition of knowledge.
