Abstract

The purpose of this study is to deepen understanding the implementation of green office practices among Malaysian workers. Through this study, it will help to determine who will benefit more from the result. Government sector that have been identified that will benefited from this study is Majlis Daerah Rompin, Pahang. Other than that, this study can give chance to the workers to taking their environmental responsibilities seriously at work. The implementation of green office practices was calculated and analyzed for each employee and used as a measure of green office implementation. There are 5 sections in instrument questionnaires. Section 1 is about demographics, Section 2 is about green office implementation, Section 3 is about environmental awareness, Section 4 is about environmental values and lifestyles, and Section 5 is about environmental attitudes. The data was collected by distributing survey questionnaires to 30 workers and the question were analyzed by using Statistical Package in the Social Sciences Software (SPSS) Version 20. The result showed that overall mean for green office implementation, environmental awareness, and environmental attitudes are high and for the environmental values and lifestyles are moderate. The recommendations for practices at Majlis Daerah Rompin, Pahang is they should organize campaign on "Green Environment". They also should organize more forum and discussion about green environn1ent, organize trip to visit other organization that practice green office, give rewards and recognition to their employees and encourage employees to practice 3Rs in office. While recommendations for future research is to increase the number of sample or respondents, expands the study to urban area, expand the study to private sector, and measure the green office practice based on other independent variables.
