Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of green office practices among Malaysian workers. Through this study, it will help to determine who will benefit more from the result. Government sector that have been identified to be benefited from this study is Majlis Daerah Pekan, Pahang. This organization will find out which policy that promotes green office in order to make sure that their workers practices green office. Moreover, this study can give chance to the workers to seriously take their environmental responsibilities at work. The implementation of green office practices is analyzed for each employee and used as a measure of green office implementation. Majlis Daerah Pekan is selected to represent the population in his study. In this descriptive study, the data is collected by distributing the Likert questionnaire to thirty randomly selected workers and the data is analyzed by using Statistical Package in the Social Sciences Software (SPSS) Version 20. The result shows that overall mean for green office implementation is quite high, for environmental awareness, and environmental values and lifestyles, but the overall mean for environmental attitude is moderate. In conclusion, the workers of Majlis Daerah Pekan implement green office practice in their work and their level of awareness is quite high. Furthermore, the employees also practices environmental values and lifestyles, and they have positive attitudes towards green office. Recommendations for Majlis Daerah Pekan, Pahang are discussed and that include organizing an event of "Green Office" campaign and Talk on green office, encouraging the workers to visit organization that implement green office, and giving rewards and recognition to their employees. Lastly, recommendations for future research are to increase the research sample size, expand the study to urban area and private sector, and measure the green office practice based on other variables.
