Abstract

The course provides students the understanding of the principles and concepts of men’s and women’s patterns and tailoring techniques. Students will learn the pattern structure and garment assembly processes using flat pattern and test-fit methods. General principles of pattern making are applied on standard sized blocks. The course also trains students to understand sewing techniques in tailoring disciplines and methods. Students will gain knowledge, understanding and skills pertaining to the processes of making traditional and contemporary tailored garments. The course will demonstrate the use of tools and equipment concerning statutory safety professional practices.
